🏕️ Camping Week Adventures at Canyon Park!
This week, our Preschool and Toddler classrooms explored the exciting theme of camping! Together, the children discussed the different supplies needed for a camping trip and learned about their purposes, from tents and flashlights to sleeping bags and campfires.
Our Preschool children practiced letter recognition by gluing camping supplies onto the letter T for Tent, while our Toddlers created their own camping-themed collages by gluing camping supplies onto their papers.
These activities supported the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, vocabulary, listening skills, and early literacy concepts. As children talked about camping equipment and its uses, they strengthened their communication skills and expanded their understanding of the world around them.
Learning about camping also provided a wonderful opportunity to discuss the importance of nature. Spending time outdoors helps children build curiosity, appreciation for the environment, problem-solving skills, and a connection to the natural world. Nature-based learning encourages exploration, creativity, and healthy development in so many ways!
